Role Overview

The Site Reforestation Development (SRD) Associate is the primary Field Lead responsible for the direct, man-to-man management of the IP contract labor force. The Associate functions as the Direct Implementer on the ground, ensuring that every reforestation and agroforestry activity from site preparation to outplanting is executed according to the established schedule and technical specifications.

This role is focused on real-time quality control, labor productivity, and strict adherence to silvicultural protocols to secure the mandatory 90% survival rate.

Responsibilities:

I. Field Labor Coordination & Productivity

  • Maintain a constant presence at the planting site to lead and coordinate IP contract labor teams in their daily tasks.

  • Drive the labor force to meet daily and weekly planting/preparation targets as defined in the operational calendar.

  • Monitor individual and group productivity, ensuring that the "per-activity" work pace is maintained without compromising technical standards.

II. Technical Protocol Enforcement

  • Oversee all field activities (site clearing, staking, lining, and hole digging, maintenance) to ensure they strictly follow the prescribed dimensions and silvicultural designs.

  • Guide the outplanting process to ensure correct root placement, soil compaction, and fertilization dosages are applied according to SOPs.

  • Ensure that different protocols for timber and agroforestry species are correctly applied by the labor teams during establishment.

III. Quality Assurance & Field Correction

  • Conduct immediate spot-checks of work as it happens; require and lead the immediate correction of any sub-standard work (e.g., shallow holes or poor staking).

  • Ensure seedlings are handled with care at the planting site, preventing exposure or physical stress before they are put in the ground.

  • Lead the labor teams in ring weeding, brushing, and enrichment planting to ensure the continued vigor of established planting polygons.

IV. Field Reporting & Labor Verification

  • Maintain accurate daily records of work accomplished, man-days utilized, and specific areas covered.

  • Serve as the first level of verification for labor accomplishments, providing the "ground-truth" data used for formal documentation and payment processing.

  • Manage the daily issuance, collection, and proper use of field tools and equipment by the labor teams.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Bachelor's degree in Forestry, Environmental Science or a closely related field.

  • Minimum of 1 year of hands-on field experience in reforestation, plantation establishment, or agricultural labor coordination.

  • Solid understanding of field silviculture (staking, holing, planting, and maintenance).

  • Strong command presence with the ability to lead and motivate IP community members in rugged field conditions.

  • Basic proficiency in using handheld GPS devices and smartphone-based mapping applications.

  • Ability to communicate technical instructions clearly in local dialects; must be firm but culturally respectful.

  • High physical endurance required for full-day field presence in remote and mountainous terrain.
