Job Summary:
The Forest Ranger will lead and manage Keneco's specialized Rapid Action and Response (RAAR) team, a high-level unit dedicated to proactive forest protection and conservation law enforcement in specific project sites in Mindanao. This role is instrumental in detecting, investigating, and responding to high-value ecological infractions, including illegal logging, encroachment, and wildlife trade. The Forest Ranger ensures close coordination with external law enforcement agencies (DENR, Philippine Army, and Philippine National Police) and upholds strict adherence to PD 705 and other environmental laws, safeguarding Keneco's forest conservation, protection, and restoration initiatives.
Key Responsibilities:
Plan, direct, and execute high-value detection, intelligence-led patrols, and rapid response operations targeting environmental violations within Keneco's project areas.
Directly supervise and participate in the lawful apprehension of individuals involved in ecological violations, ensuring proper procedures for evidence collection and offender processing.
Lead intelligence gathering, analysis, and dissemination to inform proactive strategies, identify high-risk areas, and anticipate threats to forest conservation.
Serve as the primary operational liaison for collaborative efforts with external law enforcement agencies (DENR, Philippine Army, and Philippine National Police) to ensure effective joint operations and legal action.
Uphold stringent safety protocols and ensure strict adherence to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), legal guidelines, and ethical conduct during all RAAR missions.
Continuously train, mentor, and build the operational capacity of RAAR team members in specialized tactics, intelligence work, legal procedures, and conflict de-escalation.
Oversee the meticulous documentation of all incidents, evidence, and operational reports, ensuring accuracy and timely submission to the Forest Protection Manager.
Ensure all RAAR equipment, vehicles, and resources are maintained in optimal condition and readiness for rapid deployment and sustained operations.
Qualifications:
A Bachelor's degree in Criminology, Law Enforcement, Forestry, Environmental Science, or a related discipline is required. In specific instances, relevant military or police academy training or prior active military or police service may be considered as an equivalent qualification.
Experience:
Minimum of 5-7 years of progressive experience in law enforcement, military operations, forest protection, or environmental enforcement, with at least 2-3 years in a leadership or supervisory role.
Proven experience in intelligence gathering, surveillance, apprehension, and inter-agency coordination.
Familiarity with Philippine forestry laws and regulations, particularly PD 705.
Experience working in challenging field environments, preferably in Mindanao.
