Communications Officer

Role Overview

The Communications Officer will support achieving the communication goals and targets under the CultureLand project workstream, specifically Awareness & Education. The position will report to the MinFor Awareness & Education Supervisor and work closely overall with the Keneco Communications Manager.

This involves the tasks around the production of digital & physical communications materials, social media presence, preparation and documentation of events, preparation of guidance and reporting documents with good layout, PowerPoint presentations, and other communication items. 

This requires a character of confident communication in English, a solution-oriented “can-do” spirit, a timely responsiveness, a curiosity to learn in a wide field of technical operations, and flexibility about work areas and tasks. This provides a very holistic learning experience on sustainability communication. The work happens in a positively spirited, young, and diverse team in South Cotabato, where successful candidates will be based.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support achieving the communication goal & targets under the CultureLand project workstream, Awareness & Education.

  • Social media presence (multiple channels) with posts and content

  • Preparation and documentation of the event

  • Scheduling of meetings, co-organizing events, co-preparing presentations together with managers, writing and sharing minutes of meetings 

  • Preparation of guidance and reporting documents with good layout

  • PowerPoint presentations and other communication items

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Willing to be based in South Cotabato, Philippines.

  • B.Sc. in Development Communication, Communication Arts, Mass Communication, Journalism, or related fields

  • Minimum 2  years of experience working in a professional company or organization

  • Confident communication in English

  • Good skills in Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, and InDesign.  

  • At least 2 years of experience in Photography and/or Videography using DSLR

  • Knowledge of using Canva, Figma, and Squarespace is an advantage

  • Knowledge Management is also an advantage

  • Good skills in PowerPoint for attractive presentations

  • Solution-oriented “can-do” spirit

  • Familiarity with remote collaboration (email, cloud storage, Google Docs, Google Sheets, messaging, online meetings)

  • Timely responsiveness

  • Quick learner with curiosity in a wide field of technical operations

  • Flexibility about work areas and tasks

  • Passion for environmental conservation and a commitment to protecting natural resources for future generations.
